Moose Country Lodges are owned and operated by three couples who have enjoyed the Lodges annually for more than 30 years. The Andersons, Humrichs, and Hedetniemis welcome the opportunity to preserve the Lodges, continue family traditions, and share a special summer lifestyle with guests who appreciate the Upper Peninsula, the town of Michigamme, and the lake.
Moose Country Lodges are on the western end of Lake Michigamme where a busy day on the 4, 360 acres of lake reveals hardly a dozen boats and the clear air enables a view from your front window of Van Riper State Park beach, 7 miles distant. Sunrise over the lake is matched only by moonlight on the water at night and by the occasional aura of Northern Lights. Steel campfire rings in front of your cabin help produce toasted hotdogs and marshmallows that add more than just flavor to any vacation. Fishing is of high quality particularly for the famous walleye but also including northern pike, small mouth bass, yellow perch, and muskie.
Lake Michigamme and Moose Country Lodges—an ideal partnership for the ideal summer vacation in the wonderful Upper Peninsula!
