Moose Country Lodges are owned and operated by three couples who have enjoyed the Lodges annually for more than 40 years. The Andersons, Humrichs, and Hedetniemis welcome the opportunity to preserve the cabins, continue family traditions, and share a special summer lifestyle of relaxation, fishing, and boating with guests who share the special character of Michigan, the Upper Peninsula, the town of Michigamme, and Lake Michigamme.
Moose Country Lodges offer four lakeside rental cabins on the western end of Lake Michigamme where a busy day on the 4,360 acres of lake reveals hardly a dozen boats and the clear air gives a view from your front window of Van Riper State Park beach, almost 7 miles distant. Sunrise over the lake is matched only by moonlight on the water at night and the occasional aura of Northern Lights. Steel campfire rings in front of your cabin help produce toasted hotdogs and marshmallows that add flavor to any vacation.
Fishing is of high quality particularly for the famous walleye but also including northern pike, small mouth bass, rock bass, crappie, yellow perch, and muskie.
Lake Michigamme’s spaciousness greets the full range of boaters in fishing and sail boats, pontoons, canoes, kayaks, and personal water craft.
Lake Michigamme and Moose Country Lodges—a partnership for an ideal summer vacation in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula!
